Customer

Fill out the web based QTP request form and upload your code.

Microchip
|
Upon receipt of the completed QTP form and your uploaded hex code, Microchip will program samples and send them to you along with a pattern verification and approval listing form (PVAL).
If your production parts are code protected we will send you 5 samples; 3 with the code protect on and 2 with the code protect off.
If your production parts are not code protected we will send you 3 samples with the code protect turned off.
It typically takes about a week from receipt of the QTP request form and hex code until samples are generated and shipped from our factory. If you have not been provided with tracking information within a week please contact your local field sales office found at www.microchip.com with any additional questions or a status update on your samples.
Note: these pattern verification samples will NOT have your custom marking on them.

Customer
|
Upon receipt of the samples and the PVAL form, the customer should verify the correct code is programmed into the parts, and that the PVAL form shows the correct marking for your production parts. Remember the pattern verification samples will not have the production marking on them.
Once the programming in the parts and part marking on the PVAL form have been confirmed as correct, the customer should sign the PVAL form and return it to Microchip Technology using the contact information located at the top of the PVAL form.
The PVAL form also contains the custom catalog part number which will soon be set up for the customer to order.

Microchip
|
Upon receipt of the signed PVAL form Microchip will release the custom catalog part number that was listed on the PVAL form into our system for the customer to order. This custom part number makes it a unique device for sale to this customer only. If you wish to allow someone else to order your custom part (sub cons etc…) you’ll need to provide written permission to Microchip Technology.
This custom part number is to be used for all future orders the customer wishes to receive with this programming in them.
It typically takes about a week from receipt of the signed PVAL form until the part number appears in our system and is available for you to order. Your Microchip Technology contact should be able to answer any additional questions you may still have at that time.

Please Note: With regards to E-Temp devices, we may send I-Temp samples for verification if E-Temp devices are unavailable for samples at that time.
