Training Program to Help You Develop an INICnet Technology-Based Infotainment System

The INICnet™ Technology and UNICENS Training Track consists of learning modules that are designed to support clients who are developing an infotainment system based on INICnet technology that is managed centrally by the Unified Centralized Network Stack (UNICENS). We recommend you start your education with the INICnet System Training module, which serves as the foundation for the more-advanced INICnet Hardware Training, followed by the UNICENS Training as the third module in this track.

INICnet System Training – Two Days

This class provides a comprehensive overview of INICnet technology, covering all the basic network functions including the handling of stream data, packet data and control messaging. It also introduces you to the basics of UNICENS system management, which are illustrated by a variety of configuration examples. This training consists of a mix of lectures and hands-on sections where you will learn how to install, configure and analyze UNICENS on a Linux® OS-based system using popular analysis and development tools like MPLAB® Network Creator, OptoLyzer® MOCCA compact and OptoLyzer Studio.

This training is the foundation for the other modules in this track.

Prerequisites

  • General knowledge of digital hardware and communication techniques
  • Basic Linux OS command line knowledge

Target Audience

  • Hardware developers
  • Software developers
  • Test engineers
  • Group managers

Content

  • Application examples, data types, topologies, PHYs, frames, synchronization, multiplexing, stream data handling, control messaging, packet data transfer
  • General device architecture, INIC features, data routing overview, power management, network diagnosis, ring break diagnosis
  • UNICENS overview, node discovery, system configuration, software architecture overview, system descriptor, communication options
  • Basic configuration and analysis of a Linux RootNode using our UNICENS-daemon and Linux Driver (both available free of charge) in an INICnet technology system, using MPLAB Network Creator, OptoLyzer MOCCA compact and OptoLyzer Studio

INICnet Hardware Training – One Day

This class provides a comprehensive overview of the general and advanced features of the OS8121x and OS81118/OS81119 families of INICs and includes a detailed discussion of enhanced network and system stability concepts. Other key topics include the configuration of data routing and an introduction to the MediaLB® bus interface. This training includes hands-on activities where you will analyze the INIC’s communication and study/modify its configuration using test and development tools including OptoLyzer MOCCA compact, INIC evaluation boards, MPLAB® Network Creator and INICkit.

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of INICnet technology provided by the INICnet System Training module
  • General knowledge of digital hardware and communication techniques
