Integrated Analog With Signal Conditioning and Processing

Integrated Analog Peripherals for dsPIC33 DSCs

Our dsPIC33 DSCs with integrated analog capability for signal conditioning and processing remove the complexity of connecting external analog devices. dsPIC33 DSCs are loaded with advanced analog peripherals such as high-speed Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs), Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), comparators and operational amplifiers (op amps) to enable processing analog signals and reduce overall design cost.

Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs)

Our high-speed Successive-Approximation-Register (SAR) ADC offers core-independent features such as integrated digital comparators and oversampling filters. dsPIC33 DSCs are integrated with 12-bit (SAR) ADCs for achieving higher sample rate of up to 3.5 Msps.

Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs)

High-precision DACs provide accurate conversions of digital streams to analog outputs. The DAC with slope compensation unit provides a user-defined slope that can be used to alter the DAC output. This feature is useful in applications such as peak current mode control, where slope compensation is required to maintain the stability of the power supply

Comparators, Operational Amplifiers and Programmable Gain Amplifiers (PGAs)

The high-speed comparators, op amps and PGAs available on dsPIC33 DSCs enable a high level of integration and reduce BoM cost by eliminating the need for external  stand-alone analog components for signal conditioning and sensing. These peripherals are tightly coupled with ADCs and high-resolution Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS)/Motor Control (MC) Pulse-Width Modulators (PWMs) to enable efficient motor control and digital power conversion.

Internal Voltage Reference and Current Bias Generator

  • Constant current source for bias, off-set generation and calibration
  • Selectable current sourcing or sinking
  • Selectable current mirroring for sourcing and sinking
