Arm® Cortex®-M33 Based MCUs Provide Wide Options for Connectivity and Advanced Security Hardware

Designed with a 120 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor, the PIC32CK GC family provides a memory capacity of up to 2 MB Flash and 512 KB SRAM. Connectivity options include 10/100 Ethernet, Hi-Speed USB, Full-Speed USB, CAN FD and configurable serial communications. Analog support includes a peripheral touch controller with 32 channels and a 12-bit ADC with a 3 Msps sampling rate.

The PIC32CK SG versions add advanced key management, fast cryptographic operations and authentication for the most demanding applications in automotive, industrial, medical and communications. The integrated Hardware Security Module (HSM) subsystem contains a dedicated CPU, memory, secure DMA controllers, cryptographic accelerators and firewalled communications with the host. This creates a strong, secure enclave for secure boot, updates and trusted applications. The addition of Arm’s TrustZone® hardware-enforced security architecture can increase secure data and program regions using the host memory and peripherals.

Packaging options include 144-lead TQFP, 100-lead TQFP and 64-lead TQFP.

Microchip Bootloaders

Bootloaders are used to upgrade firmware on a target device without using an external programmer or debugger. Commonly used with microcontrollers (MCUs), a bootloader contains code that loads and executes an application program. Bootloaders can also perform additional tasks such as validating the code integrity and authenticity.
