Ethernet Bridge Devices

Ethernet bridge devices enable you to implement Ethernet connectivity to a host processor via USB, High-Speed Inter-Chip (HSIC), Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI™) or PCI Express® (PCIe®) interfaces. In the case of USB, these solutions enable fanning out the local bus, providing flexibility towards additional downstream ports.

PCIe-to-Ethernet Bridging

  • Fully integrated 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps networking solutions
  • MII/RGMII/SGMII+ interfaces for flexible integration
  • Harness power advantages within the PCIe 3.1 specification for a modern design approach
  • Single supply, single clock or crystal
  • IEEE 1588 and IEEE 802.1AS Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
  • Comprehensive reporting and diagnostic features
  • Industrial and extended industrial options available

USB-to-Ethernet Hub Combination Bridging

  • Fully integrated 2-, 3- and 4-port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub and 10/100 Ethernet controllers
  • UniClock technology with a 25 MHz crystal for hassle-free USB and Ethernet connectivity to simplify the clocking scheme and reduce system Bill of Material (BoM) cost
  • Single supply
  • Support for multiple operating systems, including Microsoft® Windows®, Linux®, FreeBSD®, VxWorks® and macOS®
  • Industrial temperature range options of −40°C to 85°C

Standalone USB-to-Ethernet Bridging

  • Single-chip, Hi-Speed USB 2.0/HSIC to 10/100 and 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet controller bridging
  • Requires only a 25 MHz crystal
  • EEPROM-less design option helps reduce BoM costs
  • Implements reduced power operating modes, including enhanced energy detect power-down
  • Supports multiple power management features, including Wake-On LAN, Magic Packet, Microsoft Modern Standby and Link Status Change
  • External MII and Turbo MII (available for speeds up to 200 Mbps) and RGMII
  • Can be combined with PTP-capable PHY to enable coherent IEEE 1588 and IEEE 802.1AS
  • Comprehensive reporting and diagnostic features
  • Industrial and extended temperature range options of −40°C to +105°C

Wi-Fi®-to-Ethernet Bridging

  • Turnkey solution for creating a Wi-Fi-to-Ethernet bridging device
  • Robust Wi-Fi connectivity that can operate in extreme conditions
  • Industrial temperature range (−40° to 85°C)
  • Advanced security features to streamline cloud authentication
