The adoption of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) is driving up the number of cameras and sensors integrated into vehicles to support remote sensing technologies like radar and LiDAR. Next-generation vehicles are expected to have six or more cameras to enable L2 and L2+ ADAS functionalities. As image sensor technology and satellite sensor architectures evolve to deliver higher resolution and quality, the increasing number of in-vehicle camera/sensor links require security and support for data rates of more than 2 Gbps.
To address the requirements of next-generation automotive camera, sensor and display applications, the Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link (ASA-ML) standard was developed by an alliance of leading automotive Original Equiment Manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers and semiconductor vendors, including Microchip. This open, multi-vendor, standards-based solution enables the transition from proprietary to standards-based serializers and deserializers.
The VS700 family of ASA-ML-compliant devices delivers high-speed and high-reliability performance for a wide range of automotive ADAS applications. The VS700 family includes single-port, dual-port and quad-port devices that are compliant with the ASA 2.1 standard. The serializer devices can be used in camera and sensor applications, and the deserializer devices are used in zonal aggregation, Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) platforms.
Leverage our VS700 Serializer and Hub/Deserializer evaluation kits to evaluate how our ASA-ML solutions can meet the needs of your ADAS application. Contact your local Microchip sales office for more information.
