We have multiple target plaforms based on PolarFire SoC FPGAs. To get started, follow the steps below:
The PolarFire SoC Icicle Kit runs Linux® out of the box and evaluates the microprocessor (MPU) subsystem, FPGA fabric, PCIe®, Gigabit Ethernet, CAN, USB and more.
The PolarFire SoC Video Kit is a full-featured embedded vision development platform targeting secure, reliable and power-efficient vision applications at the edge, including our VectorBlox™ Accelerator SDK and Neural Network IP, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) and automation applications.
The PolarFire SoC Discovery Kit is a low-cost, open-source development kit powered by a quad-core, RISC-V application-class processor. This device supports Linux® and real-time applications, a rich set of peripherals and 95K low-power, high-performance FPGA logic elements.
Renode provides a simulation model for the PolarFire SoC and Mi-V soft CPUs that you can use to debug firmware. Renode is bundled with the SoftConsole development environment.

We introduced the development kit for the industry’s first RISC-V-based SoC FPGA, the PolarFire SoC Icicle Kit. The Icicle Kit centers around a 254K Logic Element (LE) PolarFire SoC FPGA and includes a PCIe® root port, mikroBUS™ expansion, dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB-OTG, CAN bus, Raspberry Pi® header, JTAG and SD™ card interfaces, which provide a full-featured platform for development.
PolarFire SoC FPGAs deliver up to 50% lower total power than competing devices. The Icicle Kit for PolarFire SoC FPGAs is well suited for smart embedded imaging, IoT, industrial automation, defense, automotive and communication applications.
