Identify ME is an Integrated Logic Analyzer (ILA)-based debugging tool for the PolarFire® SoC, PolarFire, IGLOO® 2, SmartFusion® 2, RTG4™, IGLOO, ProASIC® 3, SmartFusion and Fusion FPGA families. Identify ME allows for instrumentation directly from RTL or post-compile netlists and enables complex trigger mechanisms, automation and debugging at full speed with the integrated Identify RTL debugger. Utilizing the dedicated hardware debuggers listed below, the Identify RTL debugger is included in the installation of Libero® SoC Design Suite.
The Identify ME tool is bundled with the installation of Libero SoC Design Suite. However, a stand-alone Identify ME tool is available as part of our stand-alone FPGA lab tools.

Critical Issue with Synplify Pro ME and Identify ME R2020.09MSP1-1 (Windows) Software in Batch Mode
Microchip identified a date-dependent issue with Synplify Pro ME and Identify ME R2020.09MSP1-1 (Windows) software bundled with Libero® SoC Design Suite v2021.1. When the Synplify Pro ME and Identify ME tool is run in batch mode on Windows, a “This software has expired” error message is reported starting on Aug 31, 2021, thus preventing design synthesis and debug.
Solution(s)
Install the updated versions of Synplify Pro ME and Identify ME R2020.09MSP1-1 (Windows) stand-alone software for Libero SoC v2021.1 that removes the date dependency by downloading it from the Synplify Pro ME and Identify ME web page after August 30, 2021. When running Synthesis and Identify within Libero SoC v2021.1, add a new Synthesis and Identify tool profile pointing to the synplify_pro.exe and identify_debugger.exe within the updated installation.
