Unparalleled Precise Time and Frequency Functions


Our portfolio of PCIe® timing modules provides unparalleled precise time and frequency functions to the host computer and peripheral data acquisition systems. Each timing module has a 100 ns clock and a 10 MHz disciplined Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO). The bus cards in these timing modules also have an external oscillator, such as a 5071 cesium clock or a rubidium frequency standard, that provides the frequency input for the card. This creates an extremely stable PCIe/PCI-based clock for all timing functions. If the input reference is unavailable, the module will continue to maintain time (flywheel) based on the drift rate of the 10 MHz oscillator. If power to the card is lost, a battery-backed Real-Time Clock (RTC) maintains the time.

We offer two categories of bus cards—GPS enabled and non-GPS enabled—in two form factors, PCI Express® (PCIe) and standard PCI (PCI-V2).

The bc63xPCle series provides precise sub-microsecond time to host computer applications. System integration is facilitated by the included Windows® and Linux® Software Development Kits (SDKs) and drivers. Time and frequency functions are programmable, allowing for the implementation of custom applications. A wide variety of available time codes facilitates easy integration to existing systems.
