Overview

The USB Power Delivery Software Framework Evaluation Kit is a full-featured hardware development platform for evaluating Microchip’s USB Power Delivery Software Framework (PSF)This RoHS-compliant development platform uses Microchip’s SAMD20 series micro-controller and UPD350 Type-C™ USB Power Delivery (PD) Transceiver. It also supports Microchip’s PD3.0 compliant UPD301B/C standalone Type-C™ PD controller. Powered by the highly configurable PSF software stack, this kit can enable enable both simple designs for quick time to market and unique designs for a differentiated customer experience.

The PSF software stack is a full featured PD3.0 implementation. Software registers enable customization of virtually all features. Status registers provide a method of reporting to host software applications, which can run co-resident with PSF or on an external system controller. Control registers allow modification of stack operation based on system requirements. This allows designers to create a unique customer experience and differentiates products from other PD implementation. Flexibility in I/O assignment and I2C commands insure compatibility with a large range of power supply architectures.

Package Contents
  • One USB Power Delivery Software Framework Evaluation Board (EVB-PSF)
