Microchip offers Secure Production Programming Solution (SPPS) to prevent overbuilding and cloning of the user designs. For implementing the SPPS, two Hardware Security Modules (HSM) are required. An HSM is a physical computing device connected to a PC via Interfaces like USB or PCIe.
