Description
The Signal Routing Port module is one of the latest peripherals introduced on PIC family devices. This module behaves similarly to a regular I/O port, except that no external I/O pins are associated. All connections to the SRPORT are internal, allowing interconnection of multiple Core Independent Peripherals without requiring any external pins with the option to be clocked, which can be used to implement a shift register or state machines. This document will summarize some key features and use cases of this module.
