IEC 61508 is an international standard for functional safety of Electrical, Electronic and Programmable Electronic (E/E/PE) systems. It defines functional safety as part of the overall safety of an Equipment Under Control (EUC) or system.

Our broad portfolio of IEC 61508 functional safety ready and compliant devices offers reliable operation in harsh environments. Many new devices are qualified as functional safety compliant, which means they were designed by following the TÜV Rheinland-certified, IEC 61508-compliant development process. These devices make it easy for your applications to comply with IEC 61508 Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 and you can achieve compliance with the higher SIL 3 safety level through redundancy.
