dsPIC33 Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs) are loaded with a variety of timer and counter peripherals. Every timer has specific capabilities and functionalities that make it well suited for different applications.
dsPIC33 DSCs offer several timer modules that are configured as generic timers or function in one of the following modes such as Gated Timer mode and Synchronous/Asynchronous Counter mode. These timers can be used in applications to measure pulse length of input signals and generate output waveforms (output compare and Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) generation)
Our QEI module provides the interface for incremental encoders to obtain mechanical position data. QEIs, also known as incremental encoders or optical encoders, detect the position and speed of rotating motion systems. QEIs enable closed-loop control of motor control applications such as Switched Reluctance (SR) motors, AC Induction Motors (ACIMs) and sensored Brushed DC (BDC) and Brushless DC (BLDC) motors.
