Notes on specific features: ============================== B1.EEPROM Software descriptor: ============================== For best compatibility and performance, it is highly recommended to program the UFX EEPROM with proper binary image. A unique serial number MUST be programmed in the EEPROM image of each device. Otherwise monitor persistency (desktop arrangement, position and resolutions) may not be mantained. Both hardware, particularly board specific configurations and software configurations can be initialized through Software descriptors in EEPROM. Please refer to UfxUtility--Readme document for more information on software descriptors. B.2 Maximum supported UFX devices: ================================= Driver supports up to 3 UFX 6000 or 7000 devices with USB hotplug feature. B.3 Extended and Mirror Mode Support ==================================== Driver supports both mirror and extended desktop modes. B.7 EDID ======== Support for the first 128-byte block of EDID 1.3 is supported. Support of CEA EDID v1.3 for Video Data Block only. C. Installation Instructions =========================== User MUST uninstall the previoius version of Sgfx driver before installing this version of package. Copy the SGFX Installer.dmg file to the desktop and double click on it. Double click on the "SGFX Installer" drive. Double click on the Setup application. It will select the correct OS X version and guide you through the install. User needs administrative privileges. D. Uninstallation Instructions ============================= In /Applications/SMSC there is an uninstaller application. User Finder to locate and execute this application, when user wish to uninstall the driver. E. Current Known Issues and Limitations ======================================= E.1 EDID/DDC ============ EDID support for established timing, standard timings, and detailed timing descriptors located in the first 128 byte block are supported. Support of CEA EDID v1.3 block for Video Data Block only. E.2 Surface Locking and Tearing (Lion only) =========================================== Due to architectural changes in Lion surface locking it not possible. Tearing may occur on slower systems, Intel Core Duo processors for example, or when the system load is high. E.3 SGFX Displays Only Available After Login (Lion only) ======================================================== Due to architectural changes in Lion a user must be logged in before the SGFX display(s) will become active. E.4 Cannot coexist with DisplayLink Drivers ============================================ No install version of DisplayLink driver can be on the same system as SGFX driver or undefined behavior will result. E.5 Display Mode 2048x1152 is Currently not Supported. ====================================================== E.6 Apple Photo Booth Exhibits Corruption While On SGFX Display in Extended Mode (Lion only). ============================================================================================= This issue is is under investigation.
