The PIC64 High-Performance Spaceflight Computing (PIC64-HPSC) series of 64-bit microprocessors (MPUs) represents a revolutionary step forward in radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant processors for space exploration applications. The PIC64-HPSC family features multiple devices with the same hardware and software to support mission profiles that range from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to deep space.
The PIC64-HPSC series offers a 100× improvement in processing capability compared to traditional space processors. These MPUs also bring new capabilities to space applications, such as virtualization, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Ethernet Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), Remote Direct Memory Access over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) v2, PCIe®, Compute Express Link® (CXL®) 2.0 and post-quantum cryptography.
We offer a complete package of libraries, drivers and boot firmware that will allow you to unlock the full capabilities of a PIC64-HPSC MPU while accelerating your time to market. The PIC64-HSPC MPU also supports multiple open-source, commercial and real-time operating systems including Linux® and RTEMS, as well as hypervisors such as the Xen Project®. You can also develop your PIC64-HPSC based-project using the MPLAB® development ecosystem and industry-standard tools.
Including:
Typical mission profiles: MEO, GEO, Deep Space
Typical mission profiles: LEO, New Space
Evaluate and prototype your designs based on the 64-bit PIC64-HPSC RISC-V microprocessor (MPU) with the PIC64-HPSC Evaluation Platform. This modular system allows you to use different Peripheral Daughter Cards (PDCs), NVRAM cards or the optional expansion kit to unlock the full capability of the PIC64-HPSC MPU. You can select a PIC64-HPSC Base Kit or build a more comprehensive PIC64-HPSC Evaluation Platform.
Building your PIC64-HPSC Evaluation Platform involves three simple steps:
The PIC64-HPSC Evaluation Platform is supported by a complete software ecosystem and Board Support Package (BSP). The platform supports boot firmware and multiple operating systems, such as Linux® and RTEMS, along with their corresponding tools, libraries and drivers. The Evaluation Platform is pre-installed with boot firmware and Debian Linux.
The PIC64-HPSC portfolio of MPUs is supported by an ecosystem of development partners, commercial operating systems, debug and security tools, as well as radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant components.
