The SST26VF064B Serial Quad I/O (SQI) flash device utilizes a 4-bit multiplexed I/O serial interface to boost performance while maintaining the compact form factor of standard serial flash devices. SST26VF064B also
support full command-set compatibility to traditional
Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol. Operating at frequencies reaching 104 MHz, the SST26VF064B enables minimum latency execute-in-place (XIP) capability without the need for code shadowing on an SRAM. The device’s high performance and reliability make it the ideal choice for Network Appliance, DSL and Cable Modems, Wireless Lan, Computing, Digital TV, Smart Meter, Server, Set Top Box, Automotive and other Industrial applications. Further benefits are achieved with SST’s proprietary, high-performance CMOS SuperFlash® technology, which significantly improves performance and reliability, and lowers power consumption for high bandwidth, compact designs.
The SST26VF064B default at power up is with WP# and HOLD pins enable and SIO2 and SIO3 pins disable allowing for SPI protocol operations without register configuration.

MPLAB® X Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is an expandable, highly configurable software program that incorporates powerful tools to help you discover, configure, develop, debug and qualify embedded designs for most of Microchip’s microcontrollers, microprocessors and digital signal controllers.
The SQI SuperFlash Kit 1 contains three Serial Flash Daughter Boards. The Serial Flash Daughter Board is an evaluation board designed to interface with the mikroBUS™ connector on the Explorer 16/32 Development Board (DM240001-2). It can also interface with the PICtail™ Plus connector that is located on the Explorer 16 Development Board (DM240001).
The MPLAB. PM3 Universal Device Programmer operates with a PC or as a stand-alone unit, and programs Microchips entire line of PICmicro.devices as well as the latest dsPIC30F DSC devices.
The ICP2(G3) Production Quality In-Circuit Programmer is a cost-effective programmer that operates with a PC or as a standalone unit. It programs 8-bit PIC® / AVR® MCUs and Serial EEPROMs & Flash ICs.
The ICP2(G3)-DP Production Quality In-Circuit Programmer is a cost-effective programmer that operates with a PC or as a standalone unit. It programs 8-bit PIC® & AVR® MCUs, 16-bit PIC MCUs & dsPIC® DSCs and Serial EEPROMs & Flash ICs.
SQI FLASH click is based on the SST26VF064B, a 64 Mbit Serial Quad I/O flash device from Microchip. The chip utilizes 4-bit multiplexed I/O serial interface to boost the performance. The click is a very fast solid-state, non-volatile data storage medium, that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed. Operating at 104 MHz, the SST26VF064B enables minimum latency execute-in-place (XIP) capability, without the need for the code shadowing.
Features like the high performance and reliability, make the SQI Flash click the ideal choice for network appliances, DSL and cable modems, wireless network devices, automotive and any other applications, where high-speed reliable data storage is needed. Further benefits are achieved with its proprietary, high-performance CMOS SuperFlash® technology, which significantly improves the performance and reliability and lowers the power consumption.
